This Polar Vortex is really starting to wear on me and to top it off Spring fashion is EVERYWHERE.  With no Spring in sight, I'm looking for ways to freshen my winter wardrobe. One easy way to do that is add a pop of fresh color.  Mint is great color that goes with any neutral, my fave is navy.

A Tribute

I read yesterday that a legend in the beauty world has passed.  Horst Rechelbacher was the founder of Aveda, but so much more than that.  He was revolutionary, a genius, an inspiration.  I had the luxury of working with him last summer on a photo shoot for his newest line, Intelligent Nutrients. I like to learn about people, so before the shoot I did a little research and learned a lot about Mr. Rechelbacher and I was immediately intrigued with his history, ambitious nature and his grand company.  Not only does he 'do hair' but he works with hospitals and is very involved with the research that goes into all his products.
I feel very fortunate that I was able to meet this man and work with him and his team (including his very kind kids).  My heart goes out to all.

Valentine's Day Ideas

I always thought Valentine's Day was overrated. OK, I still think its overrated (insert assumptions of my love life here). I don't do the gift things, but I am not naive to the fact that most people do. I've found some great ideas for the best people in your life.  These won't break the bank but still show some thought. This isn't a day just for your boyfriend, husband or man-friend, don't forget about you best friend, two or four-legged.  And, definitely, don't forget about your sister who always has your back and happens to wear the same size as you.

Cool Store Alert- Cotton On

Maybe I'm late to the game but when bumming around the mall I came across Cotton On.  Cute clothes in the window, so, naturally I had to go in.  They have a great variety of stuff; sweaters, tons of tees, jackets, blazers, dresses. I had my nephew in tow, so I didn't stay long.  I definitely need to go back, here are some items that caught my attention. With prices like these I can load up on some great stuff.
